The real conversion begins

The first big step in converting the van was always going to be insulating and carpeting the back. This being our fist conversion we needed a little bit of  help to point us in the right direction.  Mark @ megavanmats was a great help and everything was ordered ready for a weekends hard labour...

1st job is to strip out all of the panels and mask off anything we didn't want covered in glue Check out that nice dust sheet!

Next is to cover all of the panels in automotive carpet - High temperature contact adhesive was used to stick everything together

Then trim off any excess material wrap the carpet around the edges of the panels and staple in place - you can see a finished panel in the back ground

Back to the van - carpet any exposed metal work - this is me putting the final touches to the rear pillar
Next up was to remove the rear plastic trim refit the floor add the Vinyl flooring and put everything back together...

Now the floor is in it's time to get itchy! Rock wool insulation for every empty space in the van. Handy hint Duck tape is very useful for holding it all in place!

Start re-fitting the panels - this is a lot harder then you might think!

We've got a little way to go but its almost back in - next photos will (hopefully) be of a fully insulated & carpeted van...
